By GBR006: Results of evaluation of Peronospora parasitica. Replicate experiments comprising 3 blocks of 15 seedlings giving 90 plants per accession evaluated for each pathogen. Seeds were sown in plastic inserts, 1 seed per module, module size 23 x 23 x 35 mm or 30 x 30 x 50 mm and placed in seed trays. the seed trays wer placed in a glasshouse at a temperature of 20 ± 2 °C with continuous illumination. By GBR006: Results of evaluation of Brevicoryne brassicae. 24 accessions were tested in each experiment. Each accession was sown in a 48 module seed tray. 21 days after sowing the plants were inoculated with aphids form the B. brassicae culture. 21 days after sowing the plants were inoculated with aphids from the B. brassicae culture. For each accession a batch of 100 aphids on leaf sections was taken from the stock plants. The aphid-infested leaf sections were transferred to the test plants. After a few days all aphids had moved onto the test plants and the leaf sections were removed. 21 days after inoculation the seed trays were assessedECPGR CCDB Brassica data extracted 2020-11-27. Description of evaluation of resistance to clubroot (Plasmiodophora brassicae) of the Brassica oleracea core collection. Two field isolates of Plasmodiophora brassicae, respectively derived from two field populations of galls of naturally infested rapeseed and cauliflower crops grown in two different historical cole cropping areas in Brittany (north-western region of France), are used in the resistance tests. Both isolates are characterised for pathogenicity on three differential B. napus cultivars as described previously by Somé et al. (1996). The isolates are propagated on Chinese cabbage (B. rapa spp. pekinensis cv. Granaat); the clubs are harvested, washed and stored at-20 °C until required. The mean Disease Index (MDI) was measured over 2 replicates (20 plants per replicate). Institute National de la Recherche Agronomique, Rennes, FranceECPGR CCDB Brassica data extracted 2020-11-27. Evaluation of Xanthomonas campestris resistance of the Brassica oleracea core collection. Glasshouse trial, temperature 25°C. Plant stage at inoculation: 7-10 days after sowing or until cotyledons are fully expanded. Isolate: from IPO-DLO (now PRI) Wageningen. Inoculation method: briefly dip round wood tooth picks in inoculum, make a single puncture through the midvein of the cotyledon near the margin. control varieties used: (Tenacity (Tolerant), Tropicana (Tolerant), Marathon (Susceptible), Bartolo (Susceptible) & White Rock (Susceptible)). company: SVS Holland BV, Postbus 22, 1600 AA Enkhuizen, NetherlandsECPGR CCDB Brassica data extracted 2020-11-27.
