Unique identification of the material is essential for the exchange of plant genetic resources (PGR)
and all associated information. Persistent unique identifiers in the form of Digital Object Identifiers
(DOIs) offer the potential to master this challenge. More and more PGR collections worldwide are
registering their material for DOIs.
